'Songs for Japan' featuring U2, Lady Gaga, Beyonce Knowles and Justin Timberlake has been released through online music store iTunes. Use this link for Songs for Japan.
The compilation album sees 38 artists donate tracks and waive royalties to benefit the Japanese Red Cross Society's relief efforts in the country, which was devastated by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake and tsunami earlier this month.
The compilation features a number of current chart hits from the US and the UK, such as Cee Lo.
Green's 'It's OK', as well as older tracks such as Foo Fighters' 'My Hero'.
The album also blends artists of many different genres, such as dance, world and country music as well as rock and pop.
The release of the album also prompts speculation that a benefit concert will be held, which could prompt various rival record companies to allow their artists to share the same stage, as has happened at benefit concerts Live Aid in 1985 and Live 8 in 2005.
A source told The Sun newspaper: ''The super-gig will be the biggest concert in years and a huge global spectacle.
''No names have been confirmed yet but the organisers are expecting a massive response from acts of all eras. They're hoping the TV audience numbers will break records.''
A physical release of the album will see it in stores from April 4.
