Sean Penn and Charlie Sheen support Haiti relief

Sean Penn and Charlie Sheen are to travel to Haiti to assist with the continuing post-earthquake relief efforts.

After the Caribbean island was shook by the catastrophic earthquake in January 2010 - measuring 7.0 and killing some 316,000 people - Oscar-winning actor Sean founded the J/P Haitian Relief Organisation in the hope of helping the recovering population with their ongoing struggle.

Speaking of the troubled star's planned visit to the nation, Sean explained: ''I think his energies, intelligence and passion could be both of service and servicing to him, as it is to all who are touched by the struggle of the Haitian people. If he chooses to give support, I'll trust it.''

Charlie - who was recently fired from his 'Two And A Half Men' show after broadcaster Warner Brothers expressed concerns about his out of control personal life - hopes to ''put a smile'' on the faces of the Haitian people still attempting to come to terms with life after the natural disaster.

He told Los Angeles radio station K-Earth 101 Live: ''I'm going to do whatever is asked of me, whatever I'm capable of, whatever I can do to deliver a little bit of faith and maybe put a smile on a few faces that wouldn't otherwise have it if I wasn't there.''
