The Old Chapel Forge Bed & Breakfast is situated in the green countryside of Sussex, England, close to the historically significant city of Chinchester. Old Chapel Forge is committed to ''Green Tourism'' initiatives and has chosen to operate an environmentally responsible business.
Old Chapel Forge uses low energy lighting, gray water recycling, solar water heaters and organically grown produce that is provided by local farmers.
In addition, they actively harvest rainwater for use in the facility. They have also made a commitment to planting trees as a means to counteract carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
The eco-friendly accomplishments and practices of the Old Chapel Forge Bed & Breakfast were recognized in October of 2006, when it was awarded the first-ever Tourism Excellence Award for England's southeastern region.
The eco-friendly bed & breakfast beat out some strong competitors, due in part to a renovation that helped to make Old Chapel Forge a more sustainable commodity. They were also recognized for leading the way in bringing environmental issues to the attention of the tourism industry, as well as for their work to encourage other businesses to join them in the effort to be responsible to the environment.
Guests can choose from several types of accommodations. These include Luxury Chapel Suites, Double Ensuites and King-Size/Twin Suites. If you prefer, you can even choose to stay in a standalone cottage.
The breakfast menu changes on a daily basis. It features items such as baby plum tomatoes with fresh basil, organic feta cheese, Sussex baked eggs with mozzarella cheese, plum tomatoes with organic cheddar cheese, and Sussex flat mushrooms with a stuffing of organic feta cheese.
You can also order an English breakfast, which will be prepared with local sausages and bacon smoked with oak wood. It is served in the farm style kitchen, or in your room if you prefer. When weather permits, you can also have breakfast in the garden or the patio located outside of your room.
