Solar hat-trick for Renewable Energy Corporation (REC)
A leading solar products company is celebrating three major achievements. Renewable Energy Corporation (REC) has been named top European supplier of solar panels by IMS Research and has received the Top Brand PV seal from EuPD Research.
At the same time REC has marked the production of its five millionth solar panel at the SolarExpo Italian trade show, in Verona.
EuPD Research, which is a leading solar market research company, presented its prestigious seal for sales in each of Europe's largest markets, in Germany, France and Italy. It is judged using independent analysis and feedback from installers and customers on distribution and brand profile.
Luc Grare, REC's Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Cells and Modules, says, "The 'Top Brand PV' seal represents REC's excellent reputation amongst those who work with and use our solar products every day.
It's a credible indication of customer satisfaction and the reliability of our products, helping installers in their sales initiatives and end customers make educated purchases."
IMS Reseach's latest report ranked REC as the top European supplier of solar panels based on its 594 MW of solar panels delivered globally in 2011. REC solar panels also came top in Photon Laboratory's 2011 Field Performance Test as they produced six percent more energy than rival products.
REC exhibited at SolarExpo, the international renewable energy exhibition in May where it celebrating production of the five millionth REC Peak Energy Series solar panel.
It has 25 distribution and product developers in the REC Partner Program in Italy, where it has been selling for three years. More than 100 certified installers are taking part in the new REC Solar Professional Program, which offers them special benefits.
Managing Director of REC Solar Italy, Ivano Zanni, says the new certification program provides new levels of support and reliability in the market.
REC Systems, which develops, installs and sells solar power plants, completed more than 50 MW capacity in Italy and is the seventh largest systems provider, says IMS Research.
REC's products include solar polysilicon, wafers, cells and modules as well as silicon materials for the electronic industry. The company was founded in Norway in 1996 and employs around 3,200 people around the world.
