I said I will always love you but I lied. This is what pop star Whitney Houston has told her husband of 14 years Bobby Brown, filing for divorce from the singer father of her 13-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina.
The 43-year-old singer and her 37-year-old husband were recently voted one of the tackiest couple in celebritydom. Houston, a six-time Grammy winner, experienced a fadeout of her career after she slipped into drugs, a problem that faced her singer husband faced for a long time. The two were married in 1992, amid speculations that they were actually not suited for each other. The couple, who share a home in Alpharetta in Georgia, have since then been on a constant rollercoaster, with Brown being in trouble with the law several times and Houston getting addicted to alcohol and drugs and seeing a decline in her once-enviable popularity.
Confirming that Houston had filed for divorce but declining to give further details, her publicist Nancy Seltzer said: “I can just confirm that she has filed for divorce.” In 2002, Houston had admitted to being a drug abuser and said she was trying to overcome her addiction through prayers.
In 2005, the couple irked audiences and fans further on Brown's reality show Being Bobby Brown. The two discussed in details their relationship, including some disgusting details that are best left behind closed doors. The show earned Houston and Brown the dubious honor of being one of the tackiest celebrity couple. Her appearance on Being Bobby Brown was labeled a bad move by tabloids, one of which wrote: “Not only does it reveal Brown to be even more vulgar than the tabloids suggest, but it manages to rob Houston of any last shreds of dignity.” Earlier in 1997, rumors surfaced of Brown physically abusing Houston when the songstress was seen with a cheek injury. Brown has two other children, La Princia and Bobby Jr, from a previous relationship and was jailed for defaulting on child support payments.
Neither Houston nor Brown have made any comments about the divorce papers or the reasons behind the separation. But Brown's legal counsel Phaedra Parks said that Houston has filed her papers in California. “It is a legal separation. It is not a divorce or a divorce petition,” she said, adding, “Bobby's not speaking with anyone at this time.”
It is, however, believed that Houston wants the custody of her daughter.

I may not hav bn into drugz but had I bn with all the fame n dough dat she had, who knows wat wld hav become of me? May b I've hav bn more of a loser than she wld ever b. I AM FOURTEEN YEARS OLD AND I SING IN CHURCH AND SCHOOL.I HAVE FAITH IN GOD AND WHITNEY AND SHE WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY PRAYERS.I AM A GOOD IMITATOR AND ONE OF MY BEST WOULD BE WHITNEY HOUSTON.HER DAUGHTER BOBBI KRISTINA HAS A PRETTY SINGING VOICE AND I HOPE SHE DOESN'T FOLLOW IN HER FOOTSTEPS BY DOING DRUGS ALSO.PEOPLE SHOULD JUST LEAVE HER ALONE AT TIMES.ALL THESE RUMORS ABOUT HER WOULD MAKE YOU DO IT.SERIOUSLY! AMERICANS AND THE WORLD NEED TO GET OFF HER BACK. I am surprised at the addiction that Whitney has,but I have faith in her and God that she will overcome her problem.I am fourteen years old, and I sing in the choir at school and church. I can imitate almost anyone.Especially Whitney. I look up to her,and she will stay in my prayers.Whitney I hope you read my comment and go into rehabilitation once and for all.To overcome your problem.Not to make it worse. Bobbi Kristina you have a pretty singing voice too, and I hope you don't learn from her mistakes. I for one will not.I know there are problems in adults lives' where you do things that you regret,but this will not be one of mine. Bobby Brown I hope you are supporting your wife anyway that you can, and all of you are in my prayers.And to identify myself alittle more, I am a african american.

Whitney is so precious to us. We love her. Thank God, she is getting back on the right track, and making some good, quality decisions for her life. We're so happy for her. We have been praying for her for many years. I saw something in her that touched my heart with compassion and I know that God gave me a sense of responsibility to hold her up in prayer all this time. Her talent comes from God with a heavy anointing. Whitney will come back, bigger and better than before. She is getting rid of all the trash in her life that had been weighing her down. satan used many people and things to try to destroy Whitney, but couldn't succeed, because of all of her friends and fans that have been on their knees, holding her up in prayer. We have all missed this precious person and her extraordinary talent. Whitney is a gift to all of us, we all need to continue praying for her.

I'm deeply saddened for Whitney. She is a beautiful and talented artist. I'm a resident of East Orange NJ where Whitney grew up and I can rememeber hearing her sing at the Peppermint Lounge many years ago before she made it big. Whitney we love you and our prayers go out to you. God Bless.

i think that it is great at least she is not i denial she knows that her career was taking a toil for the worst. she was trying to stop when you get a man that don't really want nothing in life and you are doing all that you can do they will take you down through there along with them. She picked up a nasty little habit and she is right prayer does changes things, but according to the Bible Faith without works is dead you can do eveything i your power to try and overcome but alone with that faith try to bring a little action and we will see what the outcome of this situation.

I THINK THAT BOTH WERE AT FAULT. I BELIEVE THAT WHITNEY JUST AS WELL AS BOBBY HAD THERE OWN PROBLEMS BUT, WHEN THEY GOT TOGETHER IT WAS A BIG MESS. THEY COULD NOT SUPPORT EACH OTHER AT ALL AND THE POOR CHILD WAS THE MAIN ONE TO SUFFER. I DO FEEL WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE IN THERE LIFE THEY CAN BOTH DO A BIG TURN AROUND FOR THE GOOD. I always thought that Bobby was the one with no sense at all but after watching a season of being Bobby Brown I realized that Bobby was the holding everything down and that whitney was just a mess all way round not saying that Bobby doesn't have problems just saying that Bobby isn't the crazy one...........................Whitney get it together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thank Whitney that she is divorcing him because she don't need him.She need he daughter and he can take i rest if his because Whitney had 1child and 1child only not 5 or 6.But I'm happy Whitney is my role model I won so many contests from singing her songs.I just hope and pray that everything go well and that she is going to be o.k God bless and good luck.

I know they will be sad for a while, just like I was when I divorced my husband. That kind of tearing is painful. To divide emotionally like that is the most hurtful feeling. My ex-husband is a carbon copy of Bobby Brown same age too. This is the first move toward Whitney's healing process. The Lord holds both of them in His hands therefore they will be fine because His Grace is sufficient enough. Whitney, most likely will be the happier one. I am truly happy for Whitney, now it's time for Jesus to come into her life to do His will.
